Ian Rennie Robertson is a London-based painter whose work explores memory, perception, and our lived experience of place. Trained at Edinburgh College of Art, the Royal College of Art  London, and Skowhegan School of Painting & Sculpture in the USA.

​

He has received multiple awards including the Helen Rose Travelling Scholarship, William Gillies Principal’s Prize, the Pernod Arts Award, and John Minton Scolarship. He has taught extensively across UK institutions, formerly serving as Head of Fine Art at the Cass School of Art, London Metropolitan University.

Ian’s latest series, Evidence of the Senses, reflects a continuing fascination with how place, memory, and time interact.These are not traditional landscapes but reflections on our transient experience of place. His practice embraces the language of contemporary painting, exploring how space and time shape consciousness.

This work, rooted in personal enquiry, speaks broadly to viewers interested in contemporary art that captures the complexity of lived experience..
